Teppan Yaki Shrimp

Ingredients
  

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp butter

1 tsp minced garlic

½ tsp grated ginger (optional)

1 tbsp sesame oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions
 

Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.

    Heat an iron griddle or heavy skillet over medium-high heat.

      Add sesame oil, then shrimp in a single layer.

        Cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until slightly crispy.

          Add garlic and butter. Toss to coat the shrimp.

            Drizzle with soy sauce. Stir quickly and remove from heat.

              Garnish with green onions and serve hot.

                Notes

                • Use a cast iron pan if you don’t have a teppan grill.
                • Don’t overcook the shrimp; they cook quickly!
                • Add a splash of mirin or sake for extra umami.
