5 Fast Rules For Making Fry Bread

01 2 teaspoons baking powder

Yeast Package

02 1/2 teaspoon salt

03 2 cups all-purpose flour

04 1 cup warm water

05 Vegetable oil (for frying)

Flour Bag

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir them together until well mixed.

Gradually add the warm water to the flour mixture while stirring. Continue mixing until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough for a few minutes on a lightly floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Divide the dough into smaller portions (about the size of a tennis ball) and shape each portion into a ball.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to a temperature of about 350°F (175°C). Take one dough ball at a time and flatten it into a round disk. You can use your hands or a rolling pin to shape it.

Carefully place the flattened dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on one side (about 1-2 minutes). Then, flip the dough and fry the other side until golden brown as well.

Remove the fry bread from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Repeat the frying process with the remaining dough portions, adding more oil as needed and adjusting the temperature as necessary to maintain the 350°F (175°C) heat.

Serve the fry bread warm with your preferred toppings or fillings, such as honey, powdered sugar, beans, or ground beef.
